Zamak (Castle) Książ

Unless you're Polish, the pronunciation of this place is quite a tongue twister. Try this link http://translate.google.com/#en/pl/ksiaz and hit the little speaker. We just wrote it on a piece of paper to show the bus driver. Getting there was a bit complicated - compounded by the fact that there are multiple train stations in Wałbrzych. On the way, we saw several deer and I believe, a stork. They're huge btw. It's also the first time we'd seen hills since arriving in Poland.

We went to Główny, or Main station. Once there, we seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. The only thing open in the station were the toilets. We wanted a No. 8 city bus and the bus stop only showed No. 12. The toilet lady pointed at a bus labelled 'A'. We got on, showed our piece of paper to the driver and accepted the four tickets he sold us. The bus went down the hill and after 20 minutes, we were instructed to get out and get the No. 8. We were right outside Wałbrzych Miasto, the station before the one we had gone to. With 15 minutes to spare, we picked up rolls, meat, cheese and two beers for a picnic lunch. Another half-hour got us within 500 metres of the entrance to the castle grounds, three hours after we left Wrocław.

there are several of these as you approach the castle

some coffered ceilings are fancier that you could imagine
