Breakfast was a delight. A pot of fresh coffee and the normal platter of sliced meat and cheese was followed by crêpes stuffed with crème fraîche and topped with whipped cream and both apricot and strawberry jam. We went for a walk up the hill (about 100 metres elevation gain) to the base of the transmission tower and then continued to the Skull Chapel (no photos allowed unfortunately). Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_Chapel_in_Czermna for pix. It's the most macabre thing we've seen in the world.
We need to walk a lot more after that much breakfast. So we walked all the way to the Czech Republic and back. Does that count as our 30th country? It was only a five minute walk. The most interesting thing was the throngs of people patronizing a little store a few metres from the open border. They were stocking up on liquor and chocolate bars and carrying back full shopping bags. The prices apparently significantly lower than Poland (which we already find low). And they accept złotych; no need for Czech Koruna.
