Last Day in Kudowa-Zdrój

There's not a cloud in the sky when we get up and the views of the hills are stunning. It's a lazy morning spent writing up yesterday's hike and planning the Krakow part of the trip. For lunch, we split a 17 zł pizza and a 6 zł Tyskie beer at Bar McEdi. The weather is still perfect and we walk to the little store just over the Czech border. For a token thank you for Sylwie, Gaby, and Gaby's grandparents, we pick up a couple of chocolate bars. It's not much but they have made us feel so welcome and we have felt pampered. Not only was there no charge for a large load of laundry, it came back folded with my shirt perfectly ironed by grandmother.

Another sculpture in the city park

Gaby has given us two complimentary tickets for Aqua Park across the road. For an hour, we enjoy the lane pool, hot tubs, and a large whirlpool with massaging sprays. I even manage 500 metres in the lane pool. Other than quick dips in the far-too-cold Lake Huron, I cannot remember the last time I swam in fresh water. The 28ºC temperature is ideal for me. But we should have brought towels! Outside, we dry off quickly enough however. A quick walk around the corner gets Clarisse a can of beer and me, a can of Somersby's cider-flavoured beer  -  perfect to drink while sitting on our balcony.

Dinner isn't quite as good as last night's but the Polish meatloaf and mashed potatoes and gravy is certainly reasonable. The evening was spent packing and watching Chelsea defeat Benfica (2-1). Yeah!
